Detailed 8-Day Rwanda Tour
Day 1 : Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
In the morning, you will be picked by the tour guide and set off on a scenic drive to Nyungwe National Park. You will have an enroute visit to Nyanza King’s Palace for a cultural visit. Proceed and reach Nyungwe in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 : Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon canopy walk
In the morning, you will set off to the forest for a chimpanzee tracking adventure. The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the chimpanzees with one hour spent among them. You will later return to the hotel for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will go for a canopy walk and return in the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
In the morning, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park – home to mountain gorillas and is recognized as the best place to trek mountain gorillas in the world, reaching in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the day at relaxation and go for a walk in Musaze for an encounter with the locals.

Day 4 : Gorilla Tracking and Afternoon Cultural Walk
Early morning, with packed lunch, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing before embarking on the gorilla tracking adventure. In the evening, you will go for a cultural walk to Iby’Iwacu for a cultural visit where you will learn more about the Banyarwanda culture. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 5 : Dian Fossey hike
In the morning, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing and proceed to hike up to the Dian Fossey grave site. On this experience you learn more about her efforts to conservation of gorillas and protecting their habitat. On return, you will drive back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation, later have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 : Golden monkey tracking and transfer back to Kigali
Early morning, you will go for golden monkey tracking and enjoy watching them play in the forest. Golden monkeys are endangered primate species only found in the Virunga Mountains, they are playful primates and you be thrilled watching them play, feed and groom each other. On return, transfer back to Kigali for drop-off at your hotel.

Day 7 : Transfer to Akagera NP and boat cruise
In the morning, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park, reaching early for a short game drive around the park. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. You may expect to see hippos, crocodiles, and some water birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8 : Game drive and transfer to Kigali
Early morning, you will go for a game drive up to the northern part of the park to catch early risers before they go into hiding. You may have a chance to see lions, antelopes, giraffes, bushbucks, among others. On return, you will transfer back to Kigali for drop-off at the airport for your 20:50 flight back home.
