Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and soak in the serene surroundings. Spend the afternoon relaxing, enjoying the lodge’s cozy comforts, and taking in the stunning views of the volcanoes. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for the 7:30 AM gorilla trekking briefing. Guided by expert rangers, trek through lush, misty forests in search of your assigned gorilla family. Trekking can take 2–5 hours, but every step is filled with anticipation. Once you reach the gorillas, spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants up close. After the trek, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about ongoing conservation efforts. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
